Bayerische Staatsoper has announced its 2023/24 season, and we are thrilled to share that a number of the exceptional TACT artists will be appearing in the following performances:
The season kicks off with the revival of Carmen, with rising star and the Carmen of the MET Aigul Akhmetshina taking on the lead role marking her debut in Munich. The performances run from September 21 to October 3, 2023.
Boris Pinkhasovich, one of the most cherished baritones at the Bayerische Staatsoper, returns to Munich with his acclaimed portrayal of Yeletskiy. The new production of Tchaikovsky's Pique Dame, directed by Benedict Andrews will be shown from February 4 to July 15, 2024.
In addition to his role in Pique Dame, Pinkhasovich will take on the role of Sharpless in the Madama Butterfly revival. He will also reprise his incredible rendition of Kovalev in The Nose, with TACT artists Alexander Teliga, Anton Rositskiy, Stanislav Kuflyuk, Andrei Popov and Vasily Efimov rounding out the cast. The performances run from May 11 to May 21, 2024.
Jens Larsen, returns to Munich as the doctor in Alban Berg's Wozzeck. Wozzeck can be seen from November 19 to November 30, 2023.
Sopranos Caroline Wettergreen and Yuliia Zasimova will perform Queen of the Night and the First Lady in Die Zauberflöte, respectively. These performances run from December 17 to December 30, 2023.
Maxim Paster will showcase his talents as Shuysky in Boris Godunov, running from January 14 to January 21, 2024.
Renowned Mezzo Yulia Matochkina will sing the roles of Azucena in Il Trovatore, performances on June 29 and July 2, 2024, and Venus in Tannhäuser from July 21 to July 28, 2024
Tenors Tansel Akzeybek and Granit Musliu begin their 2023/24 as the new members of the renowned Bayerische Staatsoper ensemble, appearing in a number of various productions. Watch this space for more announcements!
