Maxim Paster has flair and panache as Mephistopheles and fills the scene with his presence both physically and vocally.
In Act one, the tenor, Maxim Paster, gave a strong performance in the role of the Scribe. Menaced by Shaklovity and bullied by the crowd, Paster produced a convincing performance of a man trying to maintain his dignity whilst under stress. His voice was secure, with a pleasing timbre. He sang with a noble air, and projected the voice firmly.
