Opera Zürich has just unveiled its 2023/24 season, which features a dazzling lineup of exceptional performers
The season will commence with Puccini's Parisian story of love and lure of high society: "La rondine", set to open in September, with soprano Yuliia Zasimova performing the role of Yvette.
In October, audiences can look forward to Rameau's satirical opera "Platée," where mezzo-soprano Katia Ledoux will shine as the vengeful Junon. The premiere is set to take place on October 12, we are excited to see Ledoux's exceptional talent in action.
In December, Nadezhda Karyazina will play the charming protagonist Isabella in "L'italiana in Algeri". We look forward to seeing Karyazina cleverly navigate her way out of tricky situations in this Rossini masterpiece.
From January , 2024, Mozart's Cosi fan tutte will feature Mauro Peter in the role of Ferrando, renowned for his stunning vocal abilities and magnetic stage persona.
In March, Verdi's Requiem will feature the exceptional talents of mezzo-sopranos Agnieszka Rehlis and Yulia Matochkina.
Allison Cook, celebrated for her remarkable performances in demanding repertoire, will portray the role of Brunelda in Roman Haubenstock-Ramati's “Amerika”, a significant 20th-century opera based on Franz Kafka's novel of the same title.
Last but not least, audiences can look forward to bass-baritone Lukasz Golinski's incredible voice and stage presence as he takes on the role of Escamillo in Carmen in April 2024.
