Long is a winner of the prestigious singing competition Neue Stimmen, also third prize winner at the Francisco Viñas Singing Contest in Barcelona and was awarded third prize and a total of five special prizes at the Moniuszko Vocal Competition in Warsaw. In 2017, he received the "Giovani Voci Verdiane" prize as winner of the Verdi Competition in Busseto, and in 2016 Le Grand Prix de l'Opéra during International Voice Competition of the Bucharest National Opera House.
Long was a member of the Opera Studio of the Bayerische Staatsoper in Munich, he also took part in Salzburg Festival Young Singers Project and Georg Solti Academy.

The COC has cast a winning duo of young Chinese singers making their Canadian debuts in the lead roles. Tenor Long Long (not to be confused with the famed pianist Lang Lang) is a natural Faust, with a golden sound that carries even in pianissimo. His versatile range soars from a deep baritone to glorious high Bs and Cs. His “Salut demeure chaste et pure” is a fine showcase of his nimble instrument. Also an expressive actor, his displays of despair, fervent love and grief are convincing.
Thankfully, the COC has assembled a superb cast. Tenor Long, who earlier this year won the Maria Callas Debut Artist of the Year award by the Dallas Opera after singing another Gounod role, exudes both passionate ardour and philosophical wonder as the title character.
Long Long as Faust was very effective vocally, hitting all the important high notes and especially sympathetic in that opening scene when he’s the old man on the verge of suicide. For me this was one of the best scenes and got us off to a great start.

Long Long (Alfredo) is an exceptional singer, and his performance as Alfredo in La Traviata was a delight for viewers at the premiere performance...Owner of a great coloratura, his voice has a natural facility to extend into the highest notes and endow them with pleasant ornamentations or flourishes. In addition, his sound power means that at times his timbre can be heard in the form and characteristics of a spinto lyrical tenor.
El tenor chino Long Long entrega un Alfredo en toda su dimensión, su cuerda de lírico químicamente puro -con patente carácter de spinto- lo despliega con heroísmo y pasión. His tenor is overtone-rich and expressive with a gentle vibrato – in fact a voice one could happily listen to all day. Nearly as impressive is Long’s acting, which successfully trod the fine line of being seemingly sincere in his love to Gilda but without entirely hiding the Duke’s real nature.
Der zweite Bregenzer im Bunde ist das ehemalige hannoversche Ensemblemitglied Long Long, der als Herzog von Mantua an die Staatsoper Hannover zurückkehrt und eine wahre Glanzleistung abliefert. Mit seinem strahlenden Tenor erreicht er mühelos – nicht nur bei der berühmten Arie „La donna è mobile“ – kraftvolle Höhen, für die er vom Publikum mit vielen Bravo-Rufen gefeiert wird.

Long Long als Don Ottavio sang die berühmte Arie nicht als der übliche chancenlose Fantast mit beschränktem Realitätsvermögen. Mit einem kraftvollen und stabilen Tenor gestaltete er die Rolle mit weit mehr Gewicht und glänzte noch mit dem überraschenden Einschub eines hohen Cs! Von ihm wird man in anspruchsvolleren Rollen noch sehr viel hören.
