The Bayerische Staatsoper has announced an exciting lineup for its 2025-2026 season, featuring an array of world-class talent. We are proud to highlight the exceptional artists from TACT who will take the stage in Munich throughout the season.
Soprano Caroline Wettergreen will enchant audiences as Zerbinetta in Richard Strauss's Ariadne auf Naxos, with performances on October 15 and 18, 2025.
Baritone Vladislav Sulimsky will portray the title role in Verdi's Nabucco, with performances running from January 18 to January 28, 2026. Sharing the stage with him, soprano Ewa Płonka will bring her powerful interpretation of Abigaille to life in the same production.
Baritone Boris Pinkhasovich will perform the role of Valentin in a new production of Gounod's Faust, scheduled for February 8-27, 2026, with additional performances on July 24 and 30, 2026.
Mezzo-soprano Aigul Akhmetshina will return to Munich with major roles this season. She will first appear as Adalgisa in Bellini's Norma (May 22-June 2, 2026 & July 17 & 20, 2026). Later, she will take on the iconic title role in Bizet's Carmen (June 13-21, 2026).
Soprano Dorothea Herbert will make her house debut as Helmwige in Wagner's Die Walküre, with performances running from June 25 to July 8, 2026.
Tenor Tansel Akzeybek, a valued member of the Bayerische Staatsoper ensemble, will perform as Tanzmeister (Aridadne auf Naxos)Teufel (Die Nacht vor Weihnachten) Der Förster (Rusalka) und Pang (Turandot), Tenor Samuel Stopford, BSO young ensemble member, will sing Malcolm (Macbeth), Jacquino (Fidelio), and Pong (Turandot).
Conductor Azim Karimov will lead the ballet production of The Nutcracker throughout November, December, and January.
