We are thrilled to welcome GRAMMY Award-winning bass Morris Robinson to TACT’s roster!

Recognized as one of the most sought-after singers performing today, Mr. Robinson has captivated audiences worldwide with his commanding voice and magnetic stage presence. Since making his Metropolitan Opera debut in Fidelio (2002), he has become a regular presence on its stage, having sung over 130 performances there in  iconic roles such as Sarastro in Die Zauberflöte, Ferrando in Il Trovatore, and both Ramfis and the King in Aida. His impressive career spans many of the world’s leading opera houses, including San Francisco Opera, Lyric Opera of Chicago, Houston Grand Opera, Dallas Opera, Teatro alla Scala, Volksoper Wien, and Opera Australia. His repertoire includes powerful portrayals of Osmin (Die Entführung aus dem Serail), Zaccaria (Nabucco), Sparafucile (Rigoletto), the Grand Inquisitor (Don Carlos), and König Marke (Tristan und Isolde), among many others. A cherished collaborator of greatest conductors of our age, he has sung under the batons of John Eliot Gardiner, Yannick Nézet-Séguin, James Conlon, Philippe Jordan, Marin Alsop, Andris Nelsons, Harry Bicket, and Gustavo Dudamel.

Beyond the opera stage, Mr. Robinson is a distinguished concert performer, having collaborated with prestigious orchestras such as the New York Philharmonic, Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Boston Symphony Orchestra, and the Los Angeles Philharmonic. He has performed at major festivals, including BBC Proms, Ravinia, Tanglewood, and Verbier, and is a frequent soloist at Carnegie Hall. His discography includes the solo album Going Home (Decca), and he has appeared in numerous acclaimed opera recordings and films, including the feature film The Magic Flute.

In addition to his performing career, Mr. Robinson serves as Artistic Advisor to the Cincinnati Opera, Artist in Residence at Harvard University, and sits on Atlanta Opera’s Artistic Advisory Council.
