We are thrilled to welcome Italian mezzo-soprano Martina Belli to TACT’s management roster.
A graduate of the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia in Rome and prizewinner of the Etta Limiti Competition in Milan, Martina Belli has established herself as one of the leading Italian mezzos of her generation. Her career has brought her to many of the world’s most prestigious stages, including the Royal Opera House, Teatro alla Scala, Teatro Real, Arena di Verona, Teatro Regio di Torino, and Teatro Massimo Palermo.
Her wide-ranging repertoire spans from Baroque to Verdi and verismo. She has been widely acclaimed as Maddalena (Rigoletto) in Madrid, Turin, Verona and Milan, as well as for her compelling interpretations of Smeton (Anna Bolena), Federica (Luisa Miller), Isabella (L’Italiana in Algeri), and Carmen in numerous Italian theatres. At La Scala, she has also appeared as Meg Page in Falstaff under the baton of Daniel Gatti and as Concepción in Ravel’s L’Heure Espagnole conducted by Marc Pascal.
Symphonic highlights include Verdi’s Requiem at the Prince Mahidol Hall in Thailand and at Teatro Massimo Palermo under the direction of Riccardo Muti. In the Baroque repertoire, she has toured internationally with Europa Galante and Fabio Biondi, also recording Handel’s Lucio Cornelio Silla (Claudio) for Glossa.
In the upcoming season, Martina Belli will appear as Santuzza in Cavalleria rusticana at the Teatro del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, Teatro Comunale di Bologna, and Teatro Massimo Palermo.
We are proud to begin this collaboration and look forward to supporting Martina in the next exciting chapter of her international career.
