Lucas van Lierop, tenor, joins TACT

We are delighted to announce that Dutch-Canadian tenor Lucas van Lierop has joined TACT for general management. 

 

In the 23/24 season, Lucas made his role debut as Monostatos in Simon McBurney’s Die Zauberflöte at the Dutch National Opera, conducted by Ricardo Minasi. He made his Baden Baden Festpiele and Berlin Philharmonic debut as Ein Junger Diener in Elektra under Kirill Petrenko, and debuted as Vierter Richter in Das Wunder der Heliane with the De Nederlandse Reisopera.

 

Exciting engagements on the horizon include his Salzburger Festspiele debut in Capriccio under Christian Thielemann, Theater Basel debut, Dutch Handel Society debut as a tenor soloist in Handel's Messiah, and a return to open the Dutch National Opera's season in Peter Grimes production under Lorenzo Viotti.

Since van Lierop’s debut as Joe Cannon in John Adams’ Girls of the Golden West, directed by Peter Sellars and Heinrich der Schreiber in Christof Loy’s production of Tannhäuser, conducted by Marc Albrecht at the Dutch National Opera, Lucas became a frequent guest of the DNO. His other appearances included Der Schneider in Christoph Loy’s Königskinder, Pong in Barrie Kosky’s production of Turandot, Robert Wilson in Adam’s Doctor Atomic, Ein Wirt Der Rosenkavalier,  Spoletta Tosca, Don Basilio Le nozze di Figaro, and creating the role of Man Ray in Willem Jeths’ Ritratto.

In concert, van Lierop appeared with the Nederlands Philharmonisch Orkest, Concertgebouw Orkest,Radio Filharmonisch Orkest, NTR ZaterdagMatinee, New Haven Symphony Orchestra, and the Stuttgart JSB Ensemble. He collaborated with Kent Nagano, Markus Stenz, Sir Mark Elder, Otto Tausk, Kirill Petrenko.

Lucas van Lierop, a graduate of the prestigious Dutch National Opera Studio, brings an abundance of talent and versatility to our agency. We're honored to have him on board as he continues to shape his artistic presence on the global stage.
