We are delighted to welcome conductor Christian Knapp to the TACT roster!
A distinguished maestro, Christian Knapp’s recent and upcoming engagements include I Vespri Siciliani, Werther, Aida, Otello, La forza del destino, and Rusalka. He also led concerts featuring Love Duets from Operas, the Gala opening of The Virtuosi of the Flute & Northern Lyre International Festival, and works such as Ravel’s Alborada del gracioso and Pavane pour une infante défunte, Bodrov’s Cello Concerto, and Debussy’s La mer. He also leads a new production of Norma at the Stanislavski and Nemirovich-Danchenko Theatre.
Mro Knapp conducts a wide range of symphonic programs, including complete cycles of Beethoven, Mahler, and Brahms symphonies. His vast operatic repertoire spans from 20th-century masterpieces by Debussy, Stravinsky, and Janáček to major works by Berlioz, Richard Strauss, Saint-Saëns, Puccini, and the complete Mozart/Da Ponte operas. He is also recognized for his interpretations of the major operas of Wagner and Verdi.
Beyond the Mariinsky, he has collaborated with many of the world’s leading orchestras, including the Los Angeles Philharmonic, Royal Liverpool Philharmonic, L'Orchestre National de France, Houston Symphony, and Seattle Symphony, among others.
