We are delighted to welcome baritone Theo Hoffman to our roster. Born and raised in downtown Manhattan and now based in Munich, Theo has forged an international career distinguished by his vivid musical and dramatic portrayals across opera and lieder.

In the 2024–25 season, Theo completed his first contract at the Metropolitan Opera, covering the Sensor in Jeanine Tesori’s Grounded; made his role debut as Demetrius in Britten’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream for Opera Theatre of Saint Louis; and returned to his signature role, Count Almaviva in Le nozze di Figaro for North Carolina Opera. The season also saw the release of his debut album, Schubert Beatles, on the NYFOS label — featuring pianists Steven Blier and Kunal Lahiry, with guest artists Julia Bullock and Andrew Owens — which was nominated for a Grammy Award in the category of Best Classical Solo Vocal Album.

Further highlights included appearances with New York Festival of Song, and he now looks ahead to a major milestone — his role and house debut as Oreste in Gluck’s Iphigénie en Tauride at the Opéra Comique in Paris, conducted by Louis Langrée and directed by Wajdi Mouawad.

Recent seasons have seen Theo make his European operatic debut at Staatsoper Hamburg in Rossini’s Il Turco in Italia, his Asian debut as Pelléas in Debussy’s Pelléas et Mélisande with the National Symphony Orchestra Taiwan, and a debut at Opernhaus Zürich in Rameau’s Platée.

We look forward to many exciting projects together and warmly welcome Theo to our family.
