We are delighted to welcome soprano Marie Maidowski to our management roster.
Berlin-born and already emerging as an extremely promising young artist, Marie has been a member of the International Opera Studio of the Staatsoper Hamburg since the 2024/25 season. There, she has appeared in productions including Ariadne auf Naxos, Boris Godunov, Le Nozze di Figaro, Elektra, Il Trovatore, Parsifal, and Hänsel und Gretel.
In the 2025/26 season—the first under Tobias Kratzer and Omer Meir Wellber—she will be featured in the large-scale Mozart project Die große Stille, as well as in Hänsel und Gretel as Gretel, Die Zauberflöte, Elektra, and Ariadne auf Naxos.
A milestone in her young career was her participation in the 2024 Young Singers Project of the Salzburg Festival, where she made her title-role debut in Orff’s Die Kluge.
Marie’s operatic journey began in the children’s chorus of the Deutsche Oper Berlin. Early on, she performed Barbarina in Le nozze di Figaro and the Nurse in Xavier Dayer’s Alzheim at the Staatstheater Cottbus. With the Kammeroper München, she sang Susanna as well as Silvia in Haydn’s rarely performed Die wüste Insel (L’isola Disabitata). In 2023, she created the role of Lovis in the world premiere of Leonard Evers’ Der Baumgeist at the Philharmonie Luxembourg.
Equally committed to lieder and concert repertoire, Marie has appeared with the Toneo Orchester München, performed in both halls of the Elbphilharmonie, at TONALi Hamburg, and in recital across Europe. Together with pianist YoungSeob Jeon, she received the Staetshuys Fund Prize and the Van Amelsvoort Prize at the International Vocal Competition in ’s-Hertogenbosch, as well as both the jury and audience prizes at the HIDALGO Lied Competition 2023.
We look forward to supporting her artistic development and celebrating this exciting new chapter together.
