Estelle Revaz is a Swiss cellist acclaimed for her expressive sound, intellectually rich programming, and deep cultural engagement. Described as sincere, profound, vibrant, and charismatic, she brings exceptional artistic depth and curatorial finesse to both solo and ensemble performances. What sets her apart is her distinctive commitment to Swiss and French repertoire, her passion for rediscovering underperformed works, and her ability to shape concerts as narrative, thematic journeys—making her not only a performer, but a visionary concert curator.
She has appeared at major festivals including the Verbier Festival, Gstaad Menuhin Festival, Festival Pablo Casals in Prades, Festival International de Colmar, Septembre Musical, and Montreux. Her performances have taken her to world-renowned venues such as Victoria Hall in Geneva, the Musée du Louvre in Paris, the NCPA in Beijing, the Oriental Art Center in Shanghai, the CCK in Buenos Aires, the Auditorio del Sodre in Montevideo, and the Linder Auditorium in Johannesburg.
Estelle collaborates regularly with leading artists including Gautier and Renaud Capuçon, Alexandra Conunova, Tai Murray, Tedi Papavrami, Leonora Armellini, and Hannes Minnaar, and has performed under the baton of conductors such as Arie van Beek, Gisele Ben-Dor, Daniel Raiskin, Joji Hattori, and François-Frédéric Guy. She has been featured by major broadcasters including Radio France, SWR, WDR, RTS, and TV5 Monde.
Renowned for her story-driven, thematically curated concert formats, Estelle creates programs that go far beyond traditional performance. Signature projects such as Bach & Friends, Inspiration Populaire, Amor y Pasión, Classical Folklore, Fugato, and The Slavic Impressionism reflect her gift for integrating repertoire, culture, and emotional narrative.
Her concerto repertoire includes core masterworks by Elgar, Dvořák, Saint-Saëns, Schumann, and Haydn, alongside twentieth-century rarities by Milhaud, Honegger, Martin, Schoeck, and Gagnebin. She is a passionate interpreter of living Francophone composers such as Xavier Dayer, Andreas Pflüger, Frederik Neyrinck, Jean-Paul Dessy, and Jean-Luc Fafchamps. Her programming also embraces romantic rediscoveries like Franchomme and Jongen, as well as canonical twentieth-century works including Dutilleux’s Tout un monde lointain and Bloch’s Schelomo.
Her discography on the Solo Musica label includes five acclaimed albums featuring works by Dall’Abaco, Frank Martin, Xavier Dayer, Martinů, Grieg, Brahms, Piazzolla, and Ginastera—a testament to her dual commitment to technical excellence and meaningful repertoire curation.
Highlights of the 2025–26 season include the opening concert of the Verbier Festival with Popper’s Hungarian Rhapsody,performances at Victoria Hall in Geneva, a recital at the Real Academia de Bellas Artes de San Fernando in Madrid, and extensive tours across Switzerland, South America, China, and Turkey.
Estelle studied with Xavier Gagnepain and Jérôme Pernoo at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris, and with Maria Kliegel at the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln. Since 2017, she has been a dedicated pedagogue at Kalaidos Music College Zürich and regularly gives masterclasses throughout Europe, Asia, and Latin America.
Beyond the stage, Estelle Revaz is also a cultural leader. Elected to the Swiss National Council in 2023, she actively advocates for artists’ rights and the essential role of the arts in public life.
She performs on a G. Grancino cello (1679) and a J. Eury bow (1825), both generously on loan from a Swiss foundation.
