Musikalisch stimmte an diesem Abend stimmte einfach alles, zumal von der Titelpartie bis hin zur kleinsten Nebenrolle Spitzenleistungen zu hören waren. Elena Mikhailenko gibt eine sinnliche Katerina, die in ihrem Mut und ihrer Selbstbestimmtheit an Carmen erinnert, und in ihrer Ergebenheit – schließlich ist Sergej ihre erste große Liebe – an Desdemona. Der metallische Kern ihrer Stimme ist für die Partie perfekt und durchdringt das Orchester mühelos – eine stupende Darbietung.
