Biography

Daniel Kramer, born in America, has steadily established himself as a highly versatile international artist, with his diverse productions attracting a great deal of popular debate and high praise from the global press. He is best known for his iconoclastic work as an opera and theatre director.
He was also artistic director of the English National Opera, but then returned to directing and has since created a string of daring, sell out productions across the EU and Asia. As a director, he often collaborates with visual and conceptual artists. He also writes librettos for new compositions, holds masterclasses regularly at leading universities such as Harvard, Brown, NYU, Guildhal and Trinity - and consults for many private houses & clients worldwide.
Daniel Kramer's works cannot be defined by any particular style.

His credits include Frank Zappa's 200 Motels, Grand Theatre Geneva (upcoming). Prima la Mamma, Die Tote Stadt, Deutsche Oper am Rhein. Satyagraha, Nixon in China, Hannover State Opera. Both world premieres are composed by the American-Israeli composer Tamar Muskal.
