With her natural charisma and deeply expressive playing, Israeli violinist Anna Lipkind-Mazor captivates audiences from the very first note. Her artistry extends beyond technical brilliance— she can shape the music into a compelling narrative, bringing each phrase to life with emotional depth and magnetic presence.
Rooted in the great Russian string tradition, Anna Lipkind-Mazor carries forward the legacy of David Oistrakh, Mikhail Garlicky, Zinaida Gilels, and the original Borodin Quartet while forging her own distinctive artistic identity. Her development was further shaped by masterclasses and influences from a wide range of renowned musicians, including Zakhar Bron, Boris Kuschnir, Salvatore Accardo, Victor Danchenko, Ida Haendel, Shlomo Mintz, Miriam Fried, Thomas Brandis, Petru Munteanu, Itzhak Perlman, Ivry Gitlis, Tsugio Tokunaga, and György Pauk.
A child prodigy, Anna made her solo debut at the age of six, leading to performances with the Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra, the Symphony Orchestra of Chisinau, and Sinfonietta Baden. At 16, she took the stage as a soloist with the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra under the baton of Zubin Mehta, marking the beginning of her international career. She pursued her formal studies with Pavel Vernikov at the Vienna Conservatory and Josef Rissin at the Hochschule für Musik Karlsruhe, earning accolades as a prize winner in four international competitions.
Her artistry has graced some of the world’s most esteemed concert halls, including the Berlin Philharmonie, the Vienna Konzerthaus, the Elbphilharmonie (Hamburg), the Paris Philharmonie, the Concertgebouw (Amsterdam), KKL Luzern, Flagey (Brussels), Sakura Hall (Tokyo), Sendesaal des Hessischen Rundfunks (Frankfurt), and Duna Palota (Budapest). She has been a featured artist at prestigious festivals such as the Oleg Kagan Festival in Kreuth, the Miyazaki Festival in Japan, the Gaia Festival in Switzerland, the Viana Festival in Portugal, the Portogruaro Festival in Italy, the Brandenburgische Sommerkonzerte, and the Eilat Chamber Music Festival.
A sought-after chamber musician, Anna has collaborated with renowned artists such as Peter Donohoe, Pavel Gililov, Ivry Gitlis, Julian Rachlin, Natalia Gutman, Pinchas Zukerman, and Patricia Kopatchinskaja, among many others. She was a longtime member of the internationally acclaimed Lipkind Quartet and co-produced the celebrated “Lipkind Plays…” series. Today, she is a core member of the Amsterdam Piano Trio.
Beyond her performing career, Anna is a visionary leader in classical music. She founded the Amsterdam Concert Series and serves as Head of Artistic Programming at ConcertLab B.V., founded by her husband, the exceptional cellist Gavriel Lipkind.
Anna's journey as an artist has been shaped not only by musical excellence but also by profound resilience. In recent years, she faced an unimaginable challenge—fighting for the life of her young son, who was diagnosed with cancer. Throughout this time, she became an emblem of strength and perseverance, inspiring an outpouring of support from the international music community.
Now, as she returns to full-scale concert activity, her playing is infused with even greater depth, emotional richness, and authenticity. With upcoming engagements, including the world premiere of Mikołaj Majkusiak’s Triple Concerto “Images from the Darkness” at the Berliner Philharmonie and a recital at the Berlin Konzerthaus, she reaffirms her place on the international stage—milestones that mark a new chapter in her artistic journey, shaped by profound experience and unwavering spirit.
Anna plays a 1781 Gagliano violin (“Martelenne”) with generous support by R&v.T.
