The singing is of a very high standard, with Aluda Todua's Rigoletto towering above the rest: his voluminous, full-bodied baritone is a treat for the ear and is one of the best that has been heard in this role during the Scholz era.

The tragic title character of Rigoletto is ideally cast in Bern with Aluda Todua. The Georgian's baritone has a rare blend of volume, broad resonance and multi-faceted timbre. Todua's voice can effortlessly assert itself against a tutti, the tone in it possesses a beautiful softness that is endowed with a bronze, velvety character. Todua's low notes sound sonorous and carrying, and the singer never seems strained in the high register.
