The 2025–2026 season at Wiener Staatsoper promises a rich and diverse repertoire and we are proud to see so many TACT artists participating in this vibrant season of opera and music theatre.

Throughout the season several of our artists will be prominently featured in leading roles and key musical positions:

The season opens with Pyotr Tchaikovsky’s Iolanta, conducted by the brilliant Timur Zangiev (September 6–16, 2025).

In December Derek Welton will take the stage as Orestes in Richard Strauss’s Elektra (December 14–23, 2025), bringing his powerful dramatic baritone to this intense psychological drama.

Spring at the Staatsoper continues with Tchaikovsky’s Eugene Onegin again under the baton of Timur Zangiev (May 22–31, 2026), showcasing his deep connection to the Russian repertoire.

The season culminates with Alexander Raskatov’s Animal Farm where a strong TACT cast brings this striking new work to life: Andrei Popov as Squealer, Michael Gniffke as Snowball, Gennady Bezzubenkov as Old Major and Karl Laquit as Benjamin. (Performances: June 12–23, 2026)

Additionally we are pleased to highlight our artists Attila Mokus, Daria Sushkova and Evgeny Solodovnikov, who are ensemble members of Wiener Staatsoper and will appear in multiple productions throughout the season.

You can rewatch the full announcement of the new season via livestream here: Watch on YouTube. This event also featured Aigul Akhmetshina, who delighted the audience with a stunning performance of ‘Nacqui all'affanno’ from La Cenerentola.

We celebrate these exciting collaborations and look forward to seeing our artists continue to inspire Vienna audiences with their virtuosity and flair.
