We are thrilled to announce that conductor Tara Simoncic has joined our artist management roster.
In the upcoming season, Tara will be conducting for the New York City Ballet at the Koch Theatre at Lincoln Center, leading performances of "The Four Temperaments," "Ballo della Regina," and "Midsummer Night’s Dream." Additionally, she will take the podium at the Kennedy Center for the New York City Ballet's production of "Jewels."
Her international engagements include conducting the Orquesta Sinfónica Nacional de México at the Palacio de Bellas Artes, where she will lead performances of Borodin's "Overture to Prince Igor," Copland's "Billy the Kid Suite," and Dvorak's Symphony No. 7. Tara will also conduct the Orquestra Jovem do Estado in a program featuring Copland's "Four Dance Episodes from Rodeo" and Bizet's "Symphonie Fantastique."
In collaboration with the Paul Taylor Dance Company, Tara will conduct at the Koch Theatre at Lincoln Center, and she will bring the holiday classic "The Nutcracker" to life with the Rochester City Ballet.
Tara has recently made history as the first woman to conduct for the world-renowned American Ballet Theatre, where she led performances of "Don Quixote" and "Giselle." Her work with the New York City Ballet includes conducting "The Nutcracker" and the world premiere of "Standard Deviation" at Lincoln Center.
She has also conducted "Giselle" and "La Sylphide" with the Atlanta Ballet, and various ballets with the San Francisco Ballet, including "Camino Real," "Sum Stravinsky," and "Catch," set to Philip Glass’s iconic Violin Concerto No. 1. Her engagements with the San Francisco Ballet also included "Don Quixote" and "The Nutcracker."
As Music Director of the Louisville Ballet, Tara conducted new productions such as "Kentucky Volume 1" and "Project Faust," a joint production with the Louisville Opera. She has also served as conductor of the Flexible Orchestra and Music Director of Ballet West, the Greenwich Symphony’s Young People’s Concerts, and the Adelphi Chamber Orchestra.
