Season 2023-2024 in Deutsche Oper am Rhein was Announced

Düsseldorf Deutsche Oper am Rhein has unveiled its captivating lineup for the much-anticipated 2023-2024 opera season. We are excited to announce that some exceptional artists from our agency will showcase their extraordinary talents on stage.

Firstly, tenor Konu Kim, who will take on the role of Tonio in Donizetti's enchanting Opéra comique "La Fille du régiment." The production will commence on August 19th, setting the stage for an incredible season.

Next, baritone Evez Abdulla will captivate audiences as Dunois in Tchaikovsky's "The Maid of Orleans," which starts on August 30th. 
 

Soprano Ewa Vesin, alongside conductor Hendrik Vestmann, will transport us to the mesmerizing world of Puccini's "Turandot" starting on September 24th. Ewa Vesin will portray the titular role of Turandot.

Andrei Danilov will grace the stage as Iwein in Moritz Eggert's "Iwein Löwenritter," commencing on January 21st, 2024. Additionally, Andrei Danilov will showcase his versatility in the role of Tebaldo in Bellini's "I Capuleti e i Montecchi," starting on March 15th.

We are also delighted to announce that soprano Ekaterina Sannikova makes her house debut reprising her role of Tatyana in Tchaikovsky's "Eugene Onegin," starting on March 1st, 2024. 
 

Tenor Giorgi Sturua makes his double debut bringing the character of  Laca in Janacek's poignant opera "Jenufa," commencing on April 14th, 2024. 

Acclaimed tenor Norbert Ernst will grace the stage as Erik in Wagner's  "Der fliegende Holländer" starting on June 16th, 2024.

Žilvinas Miškinis will showcase his remarkable versatility, portraying Caporal in Donizetti's "La Fille du régiment," Lauret in "The Maid of Orleans," Zweiter Gralsritter in Wagner's "Parsifal," the voice of the Lion in "Iwein Löwenritter," Lorenzo in "I Capuleti e i Montecchi," and Dottore Grenvil in "La Traviata."

Last but not least, Elena Sancho Pereg will grace the stage as Marie in "La Fille du régiment," the Flower Girl in "Parsifal," and Eurydike in "Orpheus in the Underworld," adding her talent to the rich tapestry of the season's performances.

The upcoming opera season promises to be a magnificent showcase of talent, passion, and artistic brilliance. We would also like to extend our heartfelt Il in Bocca al lupo to all the artists involved in these upcoming productions.
