We are thrilled to announce the addition of Michal Doron, an exceptional Israeli-American mezzo-soprano, to our artist roster. Doron is a current member of the Semperoper Dresden's Ensemble and a graduate of the prestigious Semperoper’s Young Ensemble Program, as well as the ‘Meitar’ opera studio at the Israeli Opera.
This season, Doron is set to captivate audiences with a series of highly anticipated role debuts, including Jezibaba in Rusalka and Polina in Pique Dame in a new production conducted by Mikhail Tatarnikov at Semperoper Dresden. She will also make her debut at the Berlin Staatsoper as Waltraute in Die Walküre staged by Dimitry Tcherniakov and conducted by Thomas Guggeis, as well as performing the role of Erda in Das Rheingold conducted by Christian Thielemann at Semperoper Dresden.
Other of her notable engagements include performances as Fenena in Nabucco, Brigitta in Die tote Stadt, Cornelia in Giulio Cesare, Dritte Dame in Die Zauberflöte, Suzuki in Madama Butterfly, and Marcellina in Le Nozze di Figaro as an ensemble member of Semperoper Dresden. She has also performed as Annina in Der Rosenkavalier at Theater Essen, and Baba in Menotti’s The Medium and Zia Principessan in Sour Angelica at the Israeli Opera Tel Aviv.
Doron has been recognized with several awards throughout her career, including the 1st prize in the Buchman-Mehta School of Music's annual Vocal Competition and the 3rd prize in the school's annual Contemporary Music Competition. In June 2022, she was also a finalist at the “Voci Verdiane” competition in Italy.
