The Opera magazine has chosen conductor Laurent Campellone as its cover star for their May issue. The magazine includes an exclusive five-page interview about French operatic repertoire and maestro's first season planning as a General Manager of Opéra de Tours.
Since his arrival last September as Director General, the French conductor has done a tremendous job to put the Grand Theatre of Tours in crisis back on track.
In the interview Laurent Campellone gives an insight into his plans for this Fall.
The season will start with two important new productions - "The Yellow Princess" by Saint-Saëns in double bill with "Djamileh" by Bizet (lead by Laurent Campellone), and "La Vie parisienne" by Offenbach in its original version in five acts, scheduled to premiere on October 1.
The program maestro Campellone imagined for the year 2021 in Tours is a treat for French opera lovers, even if the Covid-19 took a heavy toll in his first six months
As a guest conductor, Laurent Campellone will lead from December 13th the new production of Gounod's "Romeo and Juliet" at the Opéra Comique in Paris.
