Maestro David Runtz will continue to lead the Zagreb Philharmonic as chief conductor for another three-year term, it was decided after a competition announced in January of this year.
Director of the Zagreb Philharmonic, Filip Fak, appointed Dawid Runtz as chief conductor, confirming the orchestra's desire, which also decided by a convincing majority to support the continuation of the successful collaboration with the young Polish maestro.
"Already during the first meeting with Maestro Runtz, which took place during a rehearsal for the Zagreb Philharmonic's concert in Kuwait in 2019, I realized that he is a young conductor of rare quality, combining exceptional musical talent and professional maturity, balance and composure in communication with the orchestra, as well as an inexhaustible enthusiasm and dedication to music, which characterize all of his performances. I am happy to be able to create and share the next chapter of our orchestra's history with such an artistic partner," concludes former member and now director of the Zagreb Philharmonic, Filip Fak.
Behind the Philharmonic and Maestro Runtz are three very successful years of intensive collaboration, during which the orchestra has greatly progressed in quality and stability. The continuity provided by another three-year term will certainly contribute to the further artistic development of the orchestra.
