We are delighted to announce that Agata Zając has been named one of the three Conductor Fellows for the 2024/2025 season at the prestigious NDR Elbphilharmonie Orchestra.
Agata Zając, a dynamic symphony and opera conductor, is currently serving as the assistant conductor to Ludovic Morlot at the Barcelona Symphony Orchestra for the 2023/2024 and 2024/2025 seasons. Hailing from Poland, Agata's musical journey began with the violin before she transitioned to conducting, completing her studies at the Poznan Academy of Music.
Each year, the NDR Elbphilharmonie Orchestra selects a Conductor-in-Residence from a pool of talented applicants. This role offers the unique opportunity to closely collaborate with and learn from Alan Gilbert and various guest conductors, engaging deeply in the orchestra's rehearsal processes throughout the season.
