Conductor Stilian Kirov joins TACT

We are thrilled to announce that Maestro Stilian Kirov has joined our roster. In addition to serving as Music Director of the Illinois Philharmonic Orchestra and the Bakersfield Symphony Orchestra, he has recently led successful performances with renowned orchestras worldwide.

Mr. Kirov is an award-winning conductor, having been the First Prize Winner of the "Debut Berlin" Concert Competition and a prizewinner at Denmark’s 2015 Malko Competition as well as the 2010 Mitropoulos Competition. He is also a recipient of numerous Solti Foundation U.S. Career Assistance Awards from 2016 to 2019.

His recent and upcoming engagements include guest conducting with the Israel Camerata, Xi'An Symphony, Minas Gerais Philharmonic, Sofia Philharmonic, Winston-Salem Symphony, Omaha Symphony, Sarasota Orchestra, and the Sarasota Ballet. Upcoming highlights with the Illinois Philharmonic include performances of Sibelius’s Second Symphony, Mussorgsky/Ravel’s Pictures at an Exhibition, Brahms’s Third Symphony, Midwest Premiere of Iyer’s Human Archipelago, Amy Beach’s Symphony in E minor and recording release with Cedille Records in Chicago, among others. He will also be conducting Verdi’s Requiem and Berlioz’s Symphonie fantastique with the Bakersfield Symphony.
