Joining Sobotka on stage will be Dominik Sutowicz as Idamor and Stanislav Kuflyuk as Dżares, who will eloquently narrate the enthralling story of love, exclusion, and the power of prejudice. Accompanying them will be the esteemed Chorus and Orchestra of Teatr Wielki in Poznań, under the baton of Maestro Jacek Kaspszyk.
Paria holds immense significance for Teatr Wielki in Poznań, having garnered global acclaim during its stunning production by Graham Vick as part of the Year of Moniuszko. This remarkable rendition captivated audiences worldwide and received the prestigious International Opera Award in the category of rediscovered work.
In the 2022-23 season, Iwona Sobotka has been exploring the Slavic repertoire, making her debut at Teatro Real Madrid in Shostakovich's The Nose, captivating audiences at the Chicago Opera Theater with Szymanowski's King Roger, and enchanting audiences at the Grand Theatre of Poznań as Rusalka in Dvořák's masterpiece.
