Fresh off his recent triumph, Aksel Daveyan has secured the second prize at the esteemed Queen Sonja Singing Competition 2023.
Aksel's upcoming engagements include roles such as Morales in "Carmen," Malatesta in "Don Pasquale," Il maestro in "Viva la mamma," Sciarrone in "Tosca," Page in "Roberto Devereux," and Un console in "Eliogabalo" - all at the renowned Opernhaus Zürich.
His journey to this point has been marked by a series of standout performances. Aksel has graced the stages of prestigious opera houses and concert halls, including the Georgian National Opera in Tbilisi, the Opera of Krakow, and Teatro Politeama in Palermo. His portrayal of iconic roles like Figaro in "Il Barbiere di Siviglia," Guglielmo in "Cosi fan tutte," and Yeletsky in "Pique Dame" has captivated audiences around the world.
Alongside his recent success at the Queen Sonja Singing Competition, Aksel has clinched the first prize at the Elena Obraztsova Competition 2023 in St. Petersburg. He was also honoured with the Republic of Armenia's President's Youth Prize in 2020 and secured the third prize at the Opera Crown Tbilisi 2nd International Voice Competition.
