An extraordinary debut of Yulia Matochkina, mezzo-soprano, in a concert version of Luisa Miller at the Salzburg Festival under the musical direction of James Conlon alongside Nino Machaidze, Placido Domingo and Piotr Beczala.

Yulia Matochkina, the leading Russian mezzo-soprano at present, gives her double debut as Federica in Luisa Miller at Salzburg Festival. Both concert performances of Verdi’s famous opera close this year’s summer festival with a treat for the opera lover all-star cast.

Yulia enjoys just a short break before heading to De Doelen in Rotterdam to appear as Marguerite in La Damnation de Faust and a give solo lied recital. 

Other appearances in her 2019/20 season include her debut as Carmen at Deutsche Opera Berlin, Kundry in Parsifal for the Philharmonie de Paris, Polina Pique Dame and Dalila in Tokyo, Brangäne in Tristan und Isolde at Gasteig München, Elbphilharmonie Hamburg and Festival Hall Baden-Baden, Olga Eugene Onegin at the Teatro dell’Opera di Roma, among others at Mariinsky Theatre.
